What is TAP?

 

Students in grades 9-12 are invited to join the Examining the Teaching Profession Pathway. Students will have the opportunity to experience basic teaching skills like facilitating team building activities, writing lesson plans, leading class activities and lessons and creating bulletin boards throughout Milton. Students will intern with the Milton CBI Department or at Crabapple Crossing Elementary School, working with students and the classroom teacher two times per week from 7:10-8:50.

Through project based learning and hands on activities, students are given the opportunity to be creative and independent. Students write rubrics, share education articles, utilize a variety of new educational technologies and applications and hear from guest speakers about various careers in education. Students will learn different strategies to help students with varying needs achieve in the classroom and will improve their own soft skills and ability to understand and connect with others.

Students will join FGE (Future Georgia Educators) and SPAGE (Student Professional Association of Georgia Educators) and may attend a Future Educators Retreat sponsored by the College of Education at Kennesaw State University and FGE Day sponsored by PAGE at The University of Georgia or The University of North Georgia.
